    Frank,

Many of the NavList members have multiple sextants and octants. My collection is used as follows:

Aircraft cockpit- U.S. Navy MK 5 bubble octant

Ship bridge- Tamaya Jupiter with 7x35mm scope

Saiboat cockpit- C&P whole horizon mirror with 4x40mm scope

On land using an artificial horizon- U.S. Navy MK 3 M.Low with x2 scope

If weight and space is an issue in a traveling situation then I have no problem going with the plastic EBBCO.

I tried out a recently purchased Astra IIIB yesterday. Suitably impressed.

Not new but never used by the look and feel of it.
