No offense, but Redford might be a great
guy with a great conscience, but for an actor he is a hack, imagine DeNiro or
Hackman or Duvall in the role and then tell me that doing it on a sextant alone
isn’t great. The whole point is to be in a position that the film Deep Water
and Donald Crowhurst wasn’t, up a creek without the proverbial paddle, or lost
out in the middle of the south
Imagine for a moment if Crowhurst had been
able to pull it off, he might never have stood the test of time and proof, but
at least he might’ve won the prize that would have given him for a short time
the sense of respectability and self-confidence he really needed. His winning would
have saved him and his family from financial ruin, instead he lost hope, probably
went insane out in the deep blue and just though himself better fit to be shark
fodder.
Oh well, I will wait for this film to come
out on DVD too, sailing movies do tend to be contrived.
All the best, and steady as she goes,
Rommel

comments on movie "All is Lost"
I just saw
the movie last night and I managed to stop myself from screaming at the screen
because this guy was screwing up so often. Don't see it on the big screen, wait
and watch it at home so you will be able to scream at the screen without being
tossed out of the theater.

it at the horizon and instantly there's a fix plotted on the chart."
