Thank you, Alex, for indicating these possibilities to actually see (for the first time) beautiful moon rises. In the time lapse video record which is accessible through photo on the NASA Web-page I can also see for the first time an "Omega"-moon. When the LL moves above the horizon one can see a mirror image below it which makes it look like the Greek omega. This indicates that the sea is warmer than the air; a situation which is actually typical for autumn and less for spring.
I conclude now that the air must have been considerably polluted when I watched the moon sets over the Marmara sea.
