Re: Moon ephemeris: Meeus vs. JPL
    From: Paul Hirose
    Date: 2015 Oct 27, 21:46 -0700

I extended the time span of my ephemeris accuracy test to 1800 - 2100.
At 1000 random times in each century I compared the geocentric Moon
position from the ephemeris under test to the JPL DE422 ephemeris. The
latter I assumed to give the correct position. Then I computed the
square root of the mean square error of the whole century. The Meeus
ephemeris is from chapter 45 (Position of the Moon) in the first edition
    of his "Astronomical Algorithms".

    RMS errors (arc seconds):

                DE406 Meeus
    1800-1900 .036 3.2
    1900-2000 .010 2.8
    2000-2100 .008 2.8
