    Thank you for the very enlightening information concerning the almanacs.  It's going to require a bit of studying by me for it all to sink in.  I do occasionally succeed in getting though the CUP maze to open JoN papers, so I'll take a look at Bennett.  Probably the main reason for not having semi diameter included in the Air Almanac Moon Correction Tables is because it's mucch easier to put the full body into the centre of a bubble than to judge where a limb ought to be placed within a bubble.  It's slightly easier aimimg at a limb on the ground using a pendulous reference sextant, but in the air, with things swinging around, it's still a struggle.  Therefore, almost all Moon observation in the air, is whole body observation, and having to remove semi diameter from the tables each time would be a pain and asking for mix ups.  DaveP
