In England , we call it the "number one eye ball". Best Navigation equipment in the world!I've seen and avoided rocks in the Scillies that were not even marked on the best charts! GPS told me to go full ahead! (would have been a disaster!). No substitute for eye balling whenever close to land. Both celnav and GPS + charts not very reliable here.
