Randall, I feel compelled to ask for specific examples of where the "accuracy" of GPS has caused ship's groundings.

I have no on-water navigation experience. It it noteworthy though, that ships still run as ground using GPS. It maybe that with the uncertainty of CN, captains would not take dangerous short cuts to save on fuel.
