    Dear Byron,
What you write is extremely interesting.
Can you give some more details, if they are not secret:

    > I attended special schools because my job was to run the Navigation team
    > So the Navigation team was QM &ETs.

    What's QM ET?

    > The ETs maintained the gear (3 SINS and type 11 periscope.)

SINS is a ship inertial navigation system, correct?

    Now, you say:

    > we navigated and corrected SINS without outside input,
    > so forget about outside signals. We would be under water about two .5 months

How did you "correct SINS" without outside input?
Or you are saying that you relied on an inertial navigation system
for 2.5 (two and half) months, that is more than 70 days,
without any outside input, that is without correcting your position?
Are you sure there was really no outside input?
You never used the periscope in these 2.5 months, never contacted
    surface ships or buoys ?

This seems very strange, given what we know about INS.
And how well did you know your position after these 2.5 months of navigating
    with INS alone?

    > On the 602 only two men stood 12 hour watches
    > (6&6) so that only they had information
    > of where we were on the chart.

Were you one of these two?
When you surfaced after 70 days how well your actual position agreed
with the position on this chart?

    > I don’t know how long SINS could be trusted,
    > we had three and we checked position continuously.

So for 70 days you sailed under water, relying on SINS alone,
and did not know whether it could be trusted?
Did you consider the possibility that SINS gives you a wrong position,
and you will finally surface in Murmansk harbor?
How well did the three SINS agree with each other?

    > We had a sextant or board for emergcys.

In what year did all this happen?

    > And Scar Gear in the periscope (what a sad sight)

    What is this, Scar Gear?

    Alex.
