Frank, I took your advice and put my e-mail address into Google tonight and found that I am now down to two entries. One is my Yahoo profile from the time I was foolish enough to join a mailing list there and the other is a dead link similar to some of the ones you found when you looked up my address. They are only in Googles cache now and the last one will disappear soon. That means I will have only one, the Yahoo profile, still to fix and that one will disappear in the next day or two. The e-mail address you use to get onto the Google system is a problem and I will not participate because I will have the same problem I had with my old address. That address in overwhelmed with spam and the only difference in the two now is where I permit it to be seen on the internet. To use the Google mailing list you need to give them an e-mail address, just like Yahoo. IT WILL OPEN YOU UP TO SPAM, NOW OR IN THE FURTURE. You do not have control over how and when they will distribute your addres! s or if a bot / spider will find your address. I worked hard to clean my e-mail address from the internet and I will not just throw it away because you are nervous about something that has not, and may not happen. Nothing in life is foolproof and dropping 1% of the lists output is fine by me and besides people have the amazing mental power to sort it out and put the pieces together for themselves. By the way, I was curious about how I would come up if you searched by ?robert gainer? + sailing. I have been more active on the internet then I was aware of. And the third thing to come up was an archive that had 30 seconds of a TV interview with me done by David Brinkley that aired on NBC Evening News for Tuesday, Nov 02, 1976 that you could buy for 100 dollars. The sailboat ride that lead to that was a trip and a half. The sailboat ride that lead to that was a trip and a half. But it amazes me that someone went and collected then cataloged old news clips about trivial subjects from thirty years ago.
