       I like your choice of words; a few years ago I tried my hand at being a sutler  (seller of things to other re enactor's) at events that
    were just for other re enactor's but I was still working full time as an RF Eng. at the time so it took all the fun out of my weekend
    getaways - I was tied to the store, couldn't enjoy the event, and everyone haggled about price, but I did have fun making the
    scientific instruments I sold and the name of my store was (wait for it) "The Age Of Enlightenment"  :-) That must have been
    a cool time period to be a 'natural philosopher'.
