Yep, the long summer evenings are nice for outdoor activities. But I just wish the government (the US government that is) would quit screwing around with the date. In my house I have one chronometer plus a second clock set to GMT. No problem. Our all important local time kitchen clock is an older radio-controlled clock that for years has automatically changed to daylight savings local time...except this year, when our all knowing government changed the date and the clock apparently did not know what to do until I reset it by removing the battery.

Yeah. Daylight Saving is an unholy abomination. It fades the curtains (that extra hour of sunlight each day adds up, you know) and baffles the cows.
On the other hand, it makes twilight sailing (after work) possible ... one of the nicest series of races of the year here depends on it. Its mainly a social sail; one hand on the tiller, the other clutching a drink, but its still good training as you are encouraged to try out tactics that may or not work, and nobody minds too much if they don't. If they do then they can be refined for more serious races. Afterwards a BBQ and more drinks and tall tales as the day fades into night. Its held on a Friday night; best way I know to start the weekend.
