Marquardt used to be a member of the German "Arbeitskreis Historischer Schiffbau" and published several articles in its periodical "Das Logbuch". One of them being: "Das erste Jahrhundert der Schonerentwicklung und deren Auswirkung auf den Schiffbau des Ostseeraumes" (Das Logbuch, Vol. 31 (1995), 32 - 39.) There is a picture of the American schooner BALTICK (1765) which I am attaching. I also attach the bibliography which may contain some more leads to follow. Unfortunately Marquardt's name has been dropped from the list of members of the "Arbeitskreis"; he used to live in Mountrose, Victoria (AUS).
