It's probably very easy to use, but this is not in the same category as a sextant. The accuracy is likely on the order of half a degree. Think "astrolabe". In fact, it even resembles an astrolabe. :) I didn't read all of the documentation, but did the inventors or the manufacturers ever call it a "sextant"? Or is that just a modern labeling?
