    For a fraction to result in a terminating decimal rather than one that repeats infinitely, the demoniator has to be a product of 2's and 5's and nothing else.  60 = 2*2*5*3, and having the 3 in there is the part that makes it repeat.  In contrast, fractions with denominators 50 (= 2*5*5) or 64 (= 2*2*2*2*2*2) do not repeat.
