    Bear in mind that Chauvenet is very late in the game. Detailed, yes. Accurate, sort of. But even a century earlier, they had almost everything all worked out. Can you read French? The article by Mendoza Rios (a Spaniard, living in England, writing in French) from 1796 covers practically everything you might want to know about the algorithms of lunars, albeit from a late 18th century perspective. They were clever back then...

    Also, have you downloaded Arthur Pearson's Excel spreadsheet from "ld-DEADLINK-com"? You should if you haven't...
