Lol. Now that you mention it, a more correct figure would've been 45.417 ft. ;)
Using a handheld GPS and double checking with Google Earth, I found the elevation of my yard to be 40 feet. I am about 5 feet 10 inches tall.
40+5+(10/12)= 45.8333...
In my haste to convert from U.S. customary measurements to metric, I included a needlessly precise figure.
What I forgot is that although I am 5'10", my eyes are not on the top of my head. So, subtracting 5" for the distance from the top of my head to my eyes:
40+5+(5/12)= 45.4166... or 45.417
As for LMT vs. zone time...you got me there! :)
