Yes, I was using the included 3x scope. I don't use my sextant as often as I could. Rarely, in fact. Part of the reason for that is because, as you said, "The index error wouldn't hold for beans..." So, even though I've had it for a few years now, it's like new.
I said in my previous post that I only *recorded* the IE at the beginning of the round. While true, I left out the fact that I checked it after the round and it was slightly off. Probably due to the fact that the frame was warming up in the sunlight. Which also may explain why my error became progressively larger.
I did leave out a couple of sights at the end which I had taken after the second IE check and an adjustment. They seemed to be more in line with the first two shots when I plotted everything.
I'm still trying to save up for a metal sextant. Probably an Astra IIIb. It's tough, though. I don't make a lot of money and every time I save some it seems something happens to take it away. I guess that's why they call me the working man. :/
