Jeremy, You mentioned something in your initial account of this lunar observation which you considered a nuisance: the Sun was on opposite bearings from the Moon so it interfered with taking the altitude of the Moon. But that is actually WONDERFUL news! See why? I don't have time now for a long post, so I'll just leave this hanging here for everybody to contemplate. -FER PS: And a reminder: don't fuss over the exact interpolated altitude of the Moon.
