    You mentioned something in your initial account of this lunar observation
    which you considered a nuisance: the Sun was on opposite bearings from the
    Moon so it interfered with taking the altitude of the Moon. But that is
    actually WONDERFUL news! See why?
    
    I don't have time now for a long post, so I'll just leave this hanging here
    for everybody to contemplate.

    PS: And a reminder: don't fuss over the exact interpolated altitude of the
    Moon. When the lunar distance is close to 90 degrees, the altitude of the
    Moon can be way off and it will not affect the calculation significantly.
