I have made more than 3200 celestial observations in the past two years and wanted to try my hand at lunar distance sights. February 23 I got a disapointing 25 mile longitude difference. The next night 4.6 miles with an error in the LD of only 0.2 minutes. My thanks to Frank Reed for creating the wonderful web site that does these calculations for me. The sights were done from my front yard with an Astra sextant and mirror artificial horizon for the altitudes.
