    Wow.  Thanks for figuring that out.  I guess I thought refraction only applies low altitudes.

    If this keeps up, I'll have to get a metal sextant ...

    Of course, the moon rises at 3 am, so I'll have to wait.

    I've been amusing myself by looking at venus during the daytime.

    Maybe I'll get up before sunrise to see all the heavenly bodies in the east.
