    Come on Frank,

Pettiness does not become you. You are way to smart to start playing word games.

Very likely, he did not intend that. But if you ever accuse someone of nationalism, be aware that this has a specific political meaning. And if that person is NOT a nationalist, he will very reasonably take offense.

    And:
"Joel has a good point that the box has the letters, "SNO-T," on it.  It
is natural to then advertise it as a "SNO-T," so that the buyer is not
confused when he receives a "SNO-T" but had ordered a "SNO-T."  That
leads to suspicion on the buyer's part regardless of whether this is
explained before the sale or after the sale or shipment."

Some people will consider this a good point, and some others will consider it literally "ignorant". Surely there is a compromise here. Call it SNO-T/SNO-T?? Any customer purchasing a Russian sextant should, I think, be able to comprehend the simple matter that CH is Cyrillic for SN. This isn't rocket science. Indeed, wouldn't they enjoy their purchase *more* if they learn what the letters represent and that CH/SN means "Navigational Sextant"?
