With the luxury of a static base and wifi, I reworked my fix and confirmed that my logic in my Sep 19/20 post was correct. The cross tightened up. No need to fret; if the split were worse, just reverse the logic. The moon does need to be in the first or last quarter though, and visible at star time.

The old mirrors in my box sextant wouldn't let Diphda through, but Jupiter came to the rescue.

Dave Pike's favourite bomber is no longer a gate guard at Gibraltar.

Ye Gods, Vulcan, Hercules and Jupiter, all in one go!
