Thank you. My box sextant is an unusual 2 1/2" model, inscribed "Smith, Royal Exchange, London". 3 filters, fits in a shirt pocket. The lid is inscribed "R Moffatt" almost certainly David Llvingstone's father-in-law. I no longer adjust index error through fear of shearing off screws.
Another shear I fear is the wind shear at the Pillar of Hercules, also known as Gibraltar. Especially as passenger; on my previous 30 or 40 visits, I had hands and feet on.
