Re: Loss of accuracy using Sun over Sun with a mercury artificial horizon?

    Dave,

    You asked:

Has anyone any experience of how much accuracy is lost using Sun on Sun compared to edge on edge with an artificial horizon?

I do. In my humble opinion, the answer is: it depends. Mostly on the person taking the sight. Personally, I seem to have experienced an increase in accuracy by overlapping the two images. Granted, that is just my impression after taking many sights limb to limb and a few overlapping only recently. I will need to take more sights and carefully compare them with my previous limb to limb sights to be more certain. I'll try to remember to update you on what I find. If I don't, feel free to 'nudge' me here or via private email. :)

    Regards,

    Sean C.
