    Re: Longitude by Lunar Occultation

    Geoffrey,

I was aware of this website. It was also included in a fairly comprehensive list of occultation resources that Kermit posted a while ago (although I can't seem to find the link now). This site naturally focuses on asteroids, and occultations of brighter stars. To get a reasonable number of events the reality is you're going to be looking at fairly faint stars. Maybe the software available on the sight can produce a list local circumstances of stars down to magnitude 6.5 but I wasn't interesting in digging around in it. I also thought it was pretty unlikely to compute longitude and GMT given latitude and local mean time,

    Regards,

    Robin Stuart
