I was lucky to pick up a perfect Otis King with none of your problems. Beautifully made. I would love to be able to do my Bygraves and Fullers like that, but alas, just cheap plastic drainpipe tubes. But they work! And when covered by quality photopaper and good scales, look ok as well.
You do not need to change tube diameter. Easier to re-size scale on computer to get exact fit for tube you have. My old photoshop elements 7 works perfectly. Just a lot of repeated trial and error.
