Here's an experiment in science reporting on the Internet... I invite those of you who are interested to post (or attempt to post) a comment on this article: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/science/article5361670.ece ...regarding its claim that navigation by sextant would become "almost impossible" if leap seconds were dropped from the calendar. Totally false, of course. But my attempts to say so have been censored, or so it seems. I left three comments saying this in various ways over the course of a week, all as generous as I could be, but they have been deleted. I suspect that timesonline.co.uk simply refuses to accept direct contradictions of its reporting. But maybe it's just an accident of timing... Perhaps if some of you post equivalent comments, yours will be posted. -FER --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Navigation List archive: www.fer3.com/arc To post, email NavList@fer3.com To , email NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
