    Re: Lifeboat sextant instruction booklet

Frank. I have a copy of that book. It came with the lifeboat sextant I purchased many moons ago. As soon as I can get my scanner back on line, I will scan it for the group but will have to send it to you on a memory stick. My internet bandwidth is not the greatest and is very slow.  PM me your snail mail address and I will get on it. The little booklet is 79 pages.

    Robert

There's a small book published in 1944 offered on ebay right now that I haven't seen before:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/301004154155

I could not find a copy online. Does anyone here own a hard copy? Could you scan it for us? I'm sure there's nothing new here, but it's always interesting to see these "minimalist" instructions in celestial navigation. Or perhaps someone could buy it for me as a New Year's present, and then I will scan it for the community. :)

Incidentally, the other auction for a "mystery" instrument, which is actually an old, corroded lifeboat sextant, has been re-listed it at a much lower price after I sent the seller a note. It's still too high, but it's an improvement.
