Thanks to both of you George and Ken for guiding me towards the previous NavLists posts which already attempted to give a "reasonable" explanation to thise quite enigmatic Lunars by Lewis and Clark.
Since they show in error by a huge amount ... I now understand why it is so difficult, and even absolutely impossible to reasonably explain such huge differences between their "reported/logged" observed values and their "actual" observed values which we now can easily reconstruct given our current knowledge of both their Place of Observation and their Time of Observation.
So I just might read all these posts and speculate ... just in my mind. No chance whatsoever to bring additional light here.

    Thanks anyway ...

    Kermit

PS : This example rings a bell ... And I now remember that when fine tuning my Lunar software ... I actually already worked on this case which I had found on the Web independently of the NavList Forum. I can now see that I was then ... just and only following a number of Predecessors who did not understand anything in these Lunars !
