To compute lunar distances (or great-circle distances) that exceed 90 degrees using tables, can't you simply compute the distance to the diametrically-opposite point, and then subtract from 180? The great circle from the moon's position to the sun's position, when extended, passes through the point diametrically opposite the moon... -- Bill
