As to the "virtual sextant" you mention, I guess that almost anything is possible, though I haven't seen or heard of one. Speaking personally, if there was such a thing as this "virtual sextant", it might be sort of sad, in that I could have spent the money I use to by my Astra on something equally silly, for instance another pistol.
Also, if such were the case, how could I justify my lurking about the beach, other than by allowing that I was really awaiting the passage of some bikini clad female(s), whom I might gaze upon in an absolutely lewd manner, being the dirty old man, old writ large, that I am.
