Here is a better GO GO at finding the star pair which figures about 34° from Altair to Vega and translates to an altitude of about 32° by measuring the image roughly directly. This gives about 356° LHA of Aries using Pub 249 vol 1 at 34 north latitude. Fiddling with a star finder has the date at November December AM or July August PM. If Mars is present on Thanksgiving as Frank has discovered then we are looking west during the AM.
