    Dear Frank,

Please, don't take this so close to your heart! :)

Yes, I do understand all the complications, - with the proper timing, with the variance of DecSun during the day, uncertainty of refraction, etc, etc.

I was not intending to tell the Lat with arcsecond accuracy - within 10 arcminutes would do. Remember, that was just a talk at a coffee-break. Besides, my friend gave exactly your's objection - he will not be able to see the Sunrise over the water because of the terrain there. It is just my favourite topic (for dinner-time) - to imagine a life on a jury-rigged liferaft made of suitecases fallen off a crashed plane. It is a complete fantasy and joke.

    Warm regards,

    Tony
