The Seamans Secrets, a navigation manual authored by John Davis is now available at the following URL http://www.mcallen.lib.tx.us/books/seasecr/dseasec0.htm The above brings up the transcriber's introductory comments which leads to 2 largish pages, one for Book 1 and the other for Book 2 Http://www.mcallen.lib.tx.us/books/seasecr/dseasec1.htm begins the first book (of 2) The 8th edition from which this was transcribed was published in 1643 in England. Illustrations and tables are included as GIF files. If it seems a little rough... you should see the "original" from whence it was transcribed! If, for any reason the above URLs don't want to work, go to the main homepage and look for "Books" which will lead you to the book http://www.mcallen.lib.tx.us/ Enjoy, Gerard Mittelstaedt gerardm@mcallen.lib.tx.us McAllen, TX www.mcallen.lib.tx.us/staff/MITT1.htm USA =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-= =-= TO UNSUBSCRIBE, send this message to majordomo@roninhouse.com: =-= =-= navigation =-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=
