would you please show us pictures of whatever you glued together and describe by means of that in what respect our initial understanding was incomplete - well, actually wrong? Your above description is rather dense and so a view of the issue from a different aspect might be helpful. I have to admit, I am somewhat confused, frankly.
Anyway, is it not amazing what you can learn from errors?
