This one Joe? -------------------------------------- 5mm White LED $4.99 Brand: RadioShack Catalog #: 276-320 Model: 276-320 Typical MCD is 1100. Size is T1 3/4 or 5mm. Clear lens color. 20mA (max). Typical Voltage is 3.6V. Comes as package of 1. ------------------------------------- Because that part is rated for only 1.1 candle power dead on center, so it might be highly distinctive and visible--but illegal for anything larger than a rowboat. Even with the fresnel lens, you're still not meeting COLREGS at any point for what a larger boat requires. I just prefer to err on the side of caution, when the regs call for specific perfomance criteria, I'm not interested in cheating or getting by on regulated safety equipment, unless that's an option of last resort. Not that I love rules, I took a scuba BC along for years before the USCG approved inflateables, and bought my Crewfit once those came on the market. But still carried the USCG one "somewhere down there" where the regs required it to be.But hey, as long as it works & you're comfortable with it. I doubt the local Coasties will want to limb aloft in order to measure it for compliance. (With *my* luck, they would. )
