    Actually, released documents show that metric system was used throughout the project (after all the head of NASA was German!). But then, for the building of the rocket all measurements had to be converted. Also, the guidance computer aboard Apollo would internally use metric, but only for the display the units would be converted because it was assumed it would be easier for the astronauts, who were military pilots, to relate.
