As mentioned in a previous post, I purchased a miniature working Nocturnal and Mariner's Astrolabe from a site called compassrosegeocoin.com. They're surprisingly accurate for their size and a fun novelty to have around. So I was excited when they announced they would be making a functional miniature sextant.
However, I've checked back periodically and found it is still not available. I sent an email asking if any progress had been made and got a quick response from the folks there. They told me: "We are still having trouble getting a manufacturer to produce them with good enough quality without costing over $150 each."
Given this group's collective knowledge of instruments and their makers, I was wondering if anyone reading this might have any suggestions.
Apologies in advance if it is a faux pas to use NavList for this purpose. It was entirely my idea.
