12.5 degrees constant error sounds massive for a hand bearing compass of this kind.  I don't know the type, shape, or arangement of the magnets to know if  realignmet of their N/S seeking line other (than 180 degrees) is possible.  Assuming there’s no exterior influence like magnetic spectacles (unlikely but not impossible), is it possible that the magnets have got twisted w.r.t. the bearing dial?  I note that some Vion Mini Morin 2000s have an addition magnifying bulge to the right of and at 90 degrees to the main prism system.  Is it possible that it’s part of a variation setting control.  I had a Silva model with such a facility given me once, and I could never remember if I had variation set or not.  Whatever the reason, don’t worry.  I see these Vions have a lifetime guarantee.
