Here's some fun. I've found recently two old catalogues for Keuffel and Esser on google books:
Here's the 1892 edition:

Nearly 600 pages.
Try the "thumbnail view" at google books to make browsing these more feasible (it's a little icon showing four squares inside a bigger square). They sell ink and many, many drafting tool sets. They sell slide rules and transit instruments and surveying equipment of all sorts. And they even sell a few sextants. But I must warn you, this is very addictive. I have a strange urge to buy a 100-year-old thumbtack remover...
