    Bruce - I read David Barrie's Sextant which is an excellent quick tour of the subject. Alistair Maclean did a very readable Captain Cook which is a good introduction. This led me on to Flinders by Miriam Estensen I'm about half way through but it's very good. So much to read so little time.
