Lu you wrote: "Oil?!!! Don't you remember "Destination Moon," the 1950 granddaddy of all heavy-on-the-science science fiction movies where the communications antennas won't deploy and the rookie astronaut says "gee, I don't know why, I greased them all up" and the mission commander has to explain that in space the grease turns to glue right before having to go on a perilous spacewalk to free them up?" Why, yes, I do indeed remember. I pulled out my DVD and watched it not 24 hours earlier. :-) In fact, the primitive technology imagined in that movie was part of what got me thinking about "Buck Bowditch in the 25th Century". The other inspiration was the mention of that early space nav study by Weems et al. which quickly turned out to be irrelevant, though still interesting. Good catch though! I was wondering if anyone would gum up their sextant in space in this game. Of course, we don't necessarily have to take the sextant outside the spacecraft. Or do we?? -FER --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ NavList message boards: www.fer3.com/arc Or post by email to: NavList@fer3.com To , email NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
