I should have advised you to skip the part in Norie about the "nonius" since, with any kind of luck, you'll never have to read a vernier.
Also, telescopes then were somewhat different from ours, and set in the instrument differently. But that shouldn't be too much of a hurdle.
I hope every List member interested in the sextant will read that chapter carefully.
