    Dave,

    Palm Pilot App        USNO

    Lon 175° 5.2' E

    Lat  32° 20.3 S

    Dec 23° 19.0' N

    Hc  18° 55.7'         Hc 18° 55.7'

    Az  328.7°             Az  328.7°

Your Sun Facts App may be rounding to the nearest tenth of a degree (Hc 18.9°). If so then it could be as much as 3' off on any given observation. See if you can get another digit precision out of it some how.

Clearly there is an errror in my calcs.

I have attached a pdf file showing my working. All longitudes are East. I note that I have been lazy and not always written the "E".   I hope that the file makes sense.
