    Bill,

    Not Sun squish. With slight side error the Sun shows very good overlapped giving a sense of side by side horizontal (same goes for a star/planet). On the high Sun it is tough to sense the horizontal so there is no choice but to go with the limb to limb method. The slight side error is left in and does not affect practical accuracy. The limb to limb sum value will be slightly less than 4 S.D. because the tangency is offset by the side error. Half the limb to limb sum is to be used as the average (not 4 S.D.).
