Yes, Looks nice:-) Unfortunately I cannot afford one like that:-( Another such similar instrument was discussed on this list few years ago; it was sold on e-bay. I think I have a detailed description/manual of that one. Apparently such instruments were really used on the early stage of airplane navigation. I have the book of Hughes, "The book of sextant" which describes another one, called "Hagner position finder". In principle, they are analogous to astrocompasses and star globes, but have higher accuracy. I suppose something like 1'-2'. And probably work faster than "Complete on Board..." sight reduction tables. But unlike the tables, or electronic calculators, or even Bygrave slide rule, this is a really beautiful thing:-) Like any other analog computer. A museum piece. Alex.
