Re: Index Card for Trig/Log Table

    Hewitt,

I'm using a U.S. Naval Institute 1959 edition hard cover table that
contains a great set of easy reading tables. Ebay has some for under
$10. My traveling trig/log table is a paperback Earl Milton Bigsbee
1977 edition that fits in the sextant box nicely but is a little bit
hard to read due to the small print size.

hours of Sun celestial. The highlighted portions of the attached index card
photos show what can be pre calculated before an observation is performed.
The remaining computations can be performed at a leisurely pace in less than
four minutes. The result is accurate to four places even when the the SIN
product is calculated by slide rule. I like the trig/log tables because they
are compact enough to fit into my sextant case along with a K&E 4070-3 slide
    rule .
