    Hi Will,

    There is a NCEP site
            http://www.cdc.noaa.gov/coads/ncep_obs/
on the net somewhere that has an archive of all maritime observational data
since 1990. I've downloaded them and burned them on a CD; besides I have
written a messy program that extracts some of the data and then draws a
pilot chart for a specified region and time window. The data in the files
do not include sea state or storm tracks; however if you shop around a bit
I think you will be able to find those too. I you are not in a hurry I
could make you some pilot charts.

    _Steven.

    >I wonder if anyone has recommendations to offer of sources for information
on climate data for planning sailing voyages in the South Atlantic and
Indian Oceans. It would be particularly convenient to have it in digital
    form, of course.

barometric pressure; sea heights and direction; and occurrence, intensity,
    and tracks of storms.
