    RIGIL KENT

Transit time at 09h17m52.3s (R KENT exactly south of moving vessel)

Position at 09:30.0 UT is S4815.7W01709.4 while we had an other independent FIX off 1.4 NM from Astronomical FIX. Our confidence for this Astronomical Fix was a Latitude error of 0.3' and a Longitude error of 3.8' (3 SIGMA values).

    Hello Antoine,

For this example my rapid-fire program gives the same fix as yours:

    S   48 deg 15.7'  +/- 0.1'
    W  17 deg 09.4'  +/- 3.1'

and are followed by 1-sigma standard deviations.

As before, I used my meridian-transit fix for AP.  I also send the the input data file (Toward = positive, Away = negative).  The Ho's are entered in decimal form, hence the arcminutes' column data are set to zero throughout.
