    Dear Peter,
As promised earlier to-day, I could take the time to closely verify and check
the data in NavList 9823. They seem to be all correctly typed.
I also re-ran both examples directly from the data published in NavList 9823.
Both results fully agree with my earlier and former results.
Here are the results I get :
Transit Time, i.e. DENEB exactly North of moving Vessel occurs at 16h32m31.3s
Position at 16:30.0 UT is N4208.5E006533 and it was (by chance) 0.7 NM away
from our TRANSIT FIX at 16:30 UT. Our confidence on this astronomical fix was
a Latitude error of 0.3' and Longitude error of 1.96'. (3 SIGMA values)
Transit time at 09h17m52.3s (R KENT exactly south of moving vessel)
Position at 09:30.0 UT is S4815.7W01709.4 while we had an other independent
FIX off 1.4 NM from Astronomical FIX. Our confidence for this Astronomical
Fix was a Latitude error of 0.3' and a Longitude error of 3.8' (3 SIGMA
Well, I will admit that this one is kind of unique in many respects. But it did work out quite well.
This concludes my current recent series of contributions to NavList. I will
probably not be able to catch up with any replies for the upcoming week.
    Best Regards from
    Antoine M. "Kermit" Couette
